The latest Breitling Superocean collection retraces the pared-down aesthetic of the original Superocean Slow Motion from the 1960s and 1970s, while adding modern features and a bright palette of colour. Plus, it’s no longer strictly a dive watch— surf with it, swim with it, hit the beach bar with it.
The Superocean III Automatic 36 features a sturdy 36mm stainless-steel case, orange dial and white bezel. Finished off with a stainless steel bracelet, and folding clasp that allows for micro-adjustments of up to 15mm.
Aside from looking good, this Superocean is also a technical marvel. Water-resistant to 300 m (1000 ft), it features broad hands and indexes coated in Super-LumiNova® that allow for exceptional readability underwater, along with a uni-directional bezel.
As with all Breitling redesigns that pull from the archives, the Superocean perfectly balances the nostalgia of its lineage with a fresh new look. There’s something for everyone in this design. Collectors will recognise the strong influence of the original Superocean Slow Motion. Water sports enthusiasts will appreciate its technical features.
